That centre panel is the working surface, left undecorated so it takes trays, books and glasses without fighting them, while the pattern sits where the eye falls rather than where the cup goes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTwo drawers pull out, one from each long side, faced in the same leather with strap handles on aged metal fittings, running on soft-close runners that draw themselves shut the last inch. In a room where the coffee table is also the place remotes, coasters and papers collect, that matters more than it sounds.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe whole piece sits on a base of solid wood — a plinth with tapered legs set slightly inward, so the body appears to float just clear of the floor.
