Here it is a kilim panel set into a leather-bound frame rather than a plain slab, so the piece has something to say before you ever open it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFive drawers, split by what you actually store. Three shallow ones across the top take keys, chargers, candles, cutlery. The two below are deep enough for table linen, board games or a tangle of cables. The boxes are solid timber, running on soft-close steel runners, and they are finished inside rather than left raw.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBoth flanks carry a full-height kilim panel under a studded leather band, with half-round brass caps at every corner — trunk hardware, used the way trunks used it, to protect the edges that actually take knocks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe back is lined in suede. That sounds like a detail and is actually the whole point of the proportions: at 150 cm long and only 45 cm deep, with a back you can look at, this is a piece that stands free. On a case a metre and a half long that is the right decision, not a compromise: ply holds flat across that span where solid timber cups and moves with the season.
