Description
A low square stool, upholstered on every face in handwoven kilim, with a hand-cut leather medallion set into the seat.
The medallion is the point of the piece. Four concave curves cut a soft star into the centre of the top, and the kilim is pieced around it so the weave runs uninterrupted right up to the leather edge — no border, no applied trim, just two materials meeting on a stitched line. It also puts leather exactly where a stool takes the most punishment: the middle of the seat.
Each kilim panel is hand-cut from an assorted vintage rug, so no two are alike. The exact pattern, colours and weave will differ from the photographs — that one-of-a-kind character is the essence of the piece. The serrated diamonds run here in rust, ochre, olive, charcoal and undyed cream, softened by age.
Four turned wooden legs lift the body clear of the floor, so it reads as furniture rather than a floor cushion and a broom passes underneath without anyone moving it. Legs are finished by hand rather than sprayed, so the colour sits in the grain instead of on top of it.
The leather carries a vintage pull-up finish and will darken across the medallion where feet and hands land most often. Being a natural hide it carries its own record — shade variation, the occasional scar or mark. These are not flaws to be corrected; they are the difference between leather and a print of it.
At 45 cm square it earns its place three ways: a footstool pulled up to a chair, a spare seat when the room fills, or — with a tray on top — a low table beside a sofa.

Your piece is built after you order it rather than taken off a shelf, so we’d rather you check these measurements against your room first — made-to-order pieces can’t be returned or exchanged. Being handmade, finished dimensions may vary by a centimetre or two.

Materials
Built from carefully selected, natural materials — kiln-dried hardwoods, hand-spun textiles, cast metal and quarried stone, chosen to last for decades. Naturally occurring grain and tone variation is intrinsic to each handmade piece.
Fabric care
Vacuum gently and regularly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust before it settles. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — press, don’t rub — and avoid soaking the fabric. Plump and rotate loose cushions so they wear evenly. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve colour, and have delicate weaves cleaned professionally rather than machine-washed.
Craftsmanship
Carved, joined and finished by hand in our workshops, passing through the hands of several craftspeople. Joinery is mortise-and-tenon — never glued shortcuts — so the piece is made to be kept and passed down.
Assembly & Installation
Most pieces arrive securely packed and ready to use. Some larger items may require simple assembly; installation assistance may be available depending on the product and your location — speak with a consultant to confirm before ordering.
Care
Dust timber with a soft dry cloth and treat with wax balm twice yearly. Vacuum upholstery gently and treat marks promptly. Keep out of prolonged direct sun to preserve the finish.
Delivery & Shipping
Made-to-order pieces are crafted in 2–3 weeks and then dispatched by safe, insured delivery, securely packed for transit. Assembly assistance is available on selected pieces. International freight is quoted at checkout.
