A rattan bed drawn in one continuous line — the post rises, bends through a soft radius and runs across the top without a joint the eye can catch.

The headboard carries two broad panels of hand-woven rattan cane, with a narrow panel tucked into each rounded shoulder. The footboard repeats the same composition at a lower height, so the bed reads as a pair of matched frames rather than a headboard with a base attached. The weave is left open, so light passes through it instead of stopping at it — a bed this size sits lighter in the room than its footprint suggests.

The headboard is finished on both faces. Its back is cane and wood, not a raw panel, so the bed can stand beneath a window or float in the middle of a room as easily as it sits against a wall.

Underneath, the frame is kiln-dried solid hardwood, dried down before it is cut so it holds its joints through Indian monsoons and dry winters alike. Side rails are reeded with a pair of fine grooves that run the full length of the bed, every edge is gently rounded, and the mattress rests on a solid wood slatted base that lets it breathe. The space beneath is left open — no drawers, just a clean line to the floor.

The frame comes in nine finishes. Natural Teak is a clear satin lacquer that lets the grain and warm honey tone of the wood show through, so frame and cane read as one golden piece. Alongside it are four smooth stains, and the same four tones in a Country finish — wire-brushed so the open grain stands proud and you can feel the timber under your hand. Smooth reads tailored; Country reads older and more relaxed, and sits especially well beside the texture of the cane.

Rattan cane is a natural material and it behaves like one. Tone varies slightly from panel to panel, and over months of daylight the whole bed warms towards a deeper honey. That movement is expected and is part of the reason to choose cane — keep it out of prolonged direct sun if you would rather slow it, and dust the weave with a soft brush.
