A bed drawn from the colonial bungalows of the hills — a tall arched headboard, a panelled footboard and turned feet, on a solid wood frame finished in deep walnut. The headboard is made two ways: as a broad wood panel, or padded and upholstered in linen or velvet within the same moulded frame.

Either way, the headboard rises to a gentle arch between square posts, its crest stepping down at each shoulder in a soft curve. A moulded frame follows the whole outline and sets the panel back within it, so the edge catches the light. At 137 cm it has real presence against a wall without crowding the room.

Wood panel. The panel is left as wood, so the grain reads as one continuous figure from post to post. The back is framed and finished like the front, so this version can stand beneath a window or away from the wall.

Upholstered. The panel is padded and covered in your choice of linen or velvet, pulled taut inside the wood frame — softer to lean against for reading in bed, and a way to bring colour or texture into the room while the frame stays walnut. The back is closed with a neat dust cloth, so this version is made to stand against a wall.

The footboard is kept low — a single framed wood panel between square posts — and the side rails carry the same moulded edge from head to foot. All four posts stand on turned feet that swell and taper like the legs of an old planter’s table, lifting the bed clear of the floor so it is easy to sweep beneath.

The frame, posts and turned feet are solid wood. The broad panels are engineered board, which stays flat across a headboard this size where solid timber would cup and split with the seasons. The mattress rests on a solid wood slatted base that lets it breathe.

The wood is shown in Walnut, a deep brown stain that warms the grain without hiding it. It is also made in Natural Teak, a clear satin lacquer that lets the honey tone of the wood show through, and in Woodland, English Chestnut and Blackwood — and each of the four stains is also available in a wire-brushed Country texture, where the open grain stands proud under the hand.

Matching bedside tables can be added to the order: three drawers with moulded fronts and antique brass knobs under a moulded top, on the same turned feet, made in the same wood finish as your bed — 61 × 46 × 66 cm each, at ₹25,000 a table or ₹50,000 for the pair. At 66 cm they sit roughly level with the top of the mattress.

Wood is a natural material. Grain and tone vary from board to board, and over years of daylight the finish mellows and deepens. Dust with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of prolonged direct sun if you would rather slow the change; vacuum an upholstered headboard gently with a soft brush attachment.
