Description
Most bar cabinets are a cupboard with a mirror glued in. This one is built like a trunk that happens to open into a bar.
The carcass stands six feet and is only twenty inches deep, wrapped entirely in leather over a hardwood frame — plain or croc-embossed, in the colour you choose. Vertical battens in solid wood run the full height of the front, fixed with antique brass studs set by hand. Reinforced brass corner caps take the load at all eight corners, leather pull straps sit on both doors in brass brackets, and a pierced brass jali plate closes the meeting stile. Both doors lock.
The working surface is a leather-topped tray that slides out on full-extension runners, so the bar gives you real depth to mix on and then disappears back to twenty inches. Behind it, a full mirror panel with mains-wired lighting above, and a slotted rail for stemware hung inverted. Two leather-fronted drawers with brass knobs sit below. Beneath them the cabinet splits: a cellar grid on the left holding bottles laid flat, open shelving on the right for decanters and ice. Both doors are shelved and strapped as bottle storage in their own right.
The whole piece runs on concealed castors. A six-foot bar that one person can reposition is a different object from one that has to stay where the carpenters left it.
The croc finish is embossed and hand-worked, so the scale pattern catches light differently across each panel. The plain finish shows the hide's own grain instead, and will record handling more openly. Either way tone shifts slightly panel to panel and deepens with use. The brass is unlacquered and will patina. Neither is a fault; both are the reason the piece looks better in year five than in year one.

Materials
Built from carefully selected, natural materials — kiln-dried hardwoods, hand-spun textiles, cast metal and quarried stone, chosen to last for decades. Naturally occurring grain and tone variation is intrinsic to each handmade piece.
Fabric care
Vacuum gently and regularly with an upholstery attachment to lift dust before it settles. Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth — press, don’t rub — and avoid soaking the fabric. Plump and rotate loose cushions so they wear evenly. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve colour, and have delicate weaves cleaned professionally rather than machine-washed.
Craftsmanship
Carved, joined and finished by hand in our workshops, passing through the hands of several craftspeople. Joinery is mortise-and-tenon — never glued shortcuts — so the piece is made to be kept and passed down.
Assembly & Installation
Most pieces arrive securely packed and ready to use. Some larger items may require simple assembly; installation assistance may be available depending on the product and your location — speak with a consultant to confirm before ordering.
Care
Dust timber with a soft dry cloth and treat with wax balm twice yearly. Vacuum upholstery gently and treat marks promptly. Keep out of prolonged direct sun to preserve the finish.
Delivery & Shipping
Made-to-order pieces are crafted in 4–6 weeks and then dispatched by safe, insured delivery, securely packed for transit. Assembly assistance is available on selected pieces. International freight is quoted at checkout.
